Complete control of the digital camera via your computer, allowing quick and easy set up, from to the on-screen preview to saving your file.
| The whole process of shooting and animation is dealt by the EasyScanCube software. It will control all your digital camera’s functions such as:
- The preview (or Liveview) of your results on your computer screen
- Complete setup of your digital camera
- Set your viewing direction, or invert the image from your preview
- Focus, and control your zoom
- Set your white point from your computer
- Set an instant or delayed trigger
- Sequential or custom naming while saving the file in your album
- View your results immediately
- Choose either RAW or JPG.
- Control your camera’s video mode from your computer
- Control two camera’s at once.
These functions and controls are either selected by the user, or can be used all together with “EasyPreset” (thus controlled by the user with the help of the software).

Cropping from the Liveview
Dual framing
| More often than not, product photos have to respect a precise height and width proportion to keep in line with website or catalogue restrictions. To avoid having to resize your images and run the risk of deforming them, ScanCube has made available a solution to this issue direct in the Liveview. The preview screen displays a crop frame consistent with the percentage width / height requested. The user can adjust the size of the frame to the size of the product all the while keeping its proportions, a size which will be memorized for future photos.
The dual frame is a more evolved version, developed by ScanCube for specific situations. For example, it allows the user to resize the frame to the border of the product, and thus automatically adding white around the inner frame while keeping the requested proportions of the main one.

Position guide using a ghost image
Recordable positioning guide
| It is sometimes necessary to create a series of photos with an identical product position, a collection of shoes for example. Furthermore, most websites have a graphic chart which includes a specific angle and/or view of the products displayed. To help with this issue, EasyScanCube has several solutions. As well as recordable positioning guide, you will also find a ghost image option. By adding a near transparent image of a previous product in the Liveview, the user will be able to place the current one exactly in the same position.
| | |
Computer controlled lighting
Backlight control
| The six sources of light are totally and independently gradable from 0 to 100% so as to adapt to the product’s characteristics such as shape, color, texture and reflections.
Controlling the backlight creates a perfectly white background. The “Autmask360” function takes things further by automatically creating a clipping mask.
The “EasyPreset” function automatically sets the lights according to a template using a similar product to the current one.
| | |
Automatic clipping
| The “Automask360” function automatically clips photographed products in order to get a perfectly white or transparent background. A clipped product can thus be neatly placed on colored or textured backgrounds.

Stacking or hyperfocus
Intense sharpness available to all
| Taking close up or macro photos of product will produce a result with sharpness only around the focus of the image, and not around. To circumvent this issue, photographers use a technique names stacking, or hyperfocus. This consists in taking multiple pictures of the object, while moving the focus point. These pictures are then assembled into one, keeping only the sharp parts of each. This procedure normally involves specialised equipment and software, as well as plenty of time. EasyScanCube has everything you need to get a hyperfocused imaged integrated: the software controls the image sequencing which is first setup by the user, the images are then compiled automatically.

“Image history” album
| In order to have an overview of the different photos taken during a cession, the last 100 images are shown as thumbnails in a strip named “Image history”. This mini album allows you to manage your photos as well as add comments or open them using a different software.
| | |
The Comparison board
| Stay productive while selecting and controlling your images using the Comparison board. This zone, including tools such zoom or color picker, allows the user to check the quality of his images as well as compare multiple angles. You will also be able to activate editing tools.
| | |
Computer assisted photo correction
| EasyScanCube is not in itself an image editing software, but it does allow you to easily change the tone of a photo (warmer or colder), to add contrast, to lighten or darken the image, to correct colors, to modify levels. The setup of this easy-to-use function can be saved to be used on other similar product, and thus automate this procedure on a series of images. This means that you can get a uniform finish across a number of images right from the beginning of your work cession. If needed, any correction can be cancelled or modified. Using “EasyPreset” allows you to create one or several pictures while using the settings from an existing photo, including its editing presets. The user will be able to choose the level of automation of this function.

No fuss 360° animations
Turntable control
Automatic creation of animation files (HTML, Flash, Gif)
| All the user is asked for is the number of photos per turn and the style(s) of animation he or she wishes to create. EasyScanCube will deal with the rest: the trigger, the turntable’s synchronisation, and finally the animation’s rendering in the chosen format (HTML, Flash, GIF, JPG, PNG, RAW, TIF or MOV for videos). The automation can be paused to allow specific interventions such as product modifications. This procedure is close to stop-motion an can produce animations where the product itself is animated.
| | |
Quick centering
| This patented function helps to avoid reworking animations due to incorrect centering or wasting time in trying to get your product dead center. You will need to use one of our accessories or two digital cameras.

HTML animation creation
Our “WISIWIB Client”
| EasyScanCube is equipped with a number of animation templates that can be modified by the user. These animations can be created during a shoot, as a batch treatment in EasyScanCube or from our WISIWIB server. This service provides an easy-to-use platform from which the user can modify all or some of his animations in accordance to the evolution of his website. WISIWIB is also developped to save animations into enriched animations.
The “WISIWIB Client” uploads the user’s pictures to the server, either instantaneously or, once setup, automatically at a later stage.
| | |
Multi-angled views
| Many clients need to create series of photos showing different angles of their products, such as front, back, three quarters, side... Rather than moving the product itself, it is quicker and more precise to use the turntable to automatically create that series of photos. All the user will need to do is define the different angles that interest him or her, save the settings, then launch for each product the shooting sequence.
The angles can either be selected as numbers, or by sight.
| | |
360° product video
| The use of video can be very important to properly reference a product. This is why ScanCube has developped a function that pilots your digital camera’s video mode, synchronized to the turntable. This 360° video, saved in .mov, can be immediately posted to Youtube, Facebook, Vimeo, Dailymotion...

EasyPreset, setting up in one click
| Automation, or computer guidance, of every function and tool of EasyScanCube is much appreciated by our customers. However, we didn’t want to stop at that.
We have created a function named “EasyPreset” which sets up the whole photographic procedure, including lights and editing, so that the user only has to click one button. All he or she needs to do is choose a template similar to the product he or she wants to shoot. All the settings are instantly set: the camera, lighting, turntable, corrections… The user can change any of the settings if needed.
EasyPreset takes simplicity to a new dimension.
| | |
Batch processing
| The “Batch Processing” module of EasyScanCube allows the user to edit photos in batches, create animations from existing images, organize files and photos...
| | |
Photo annotation
Saving in PDF format
| Annotation functions are interesting when adding complementary information. Enriched animations, in HTML format, allow this type of annotation. However, it is also possible to annotate an fixed image in order to pass on comments or information to partners or retailers.
The best format for this is PDF as it allows multiple annotations and corrections. ScanCube has developed a tool that allows you to post comments and have them point to a specific location of the photo. The result is saved in PDF format.
